22 Challenge.org
Founded on February 17, 2014

The official Facebook page for the 22 Challenge Corp. in the tri-state/Ohio Valley area. http://Facebook.com/22challenge.org

The biggest impact for preventing suicide is human connections. This has been very difficult to achieve during these times of pandemic and civil unrest. We are aiming to provide a covid-19 safe and politic free environment to connect with those in need of camaraderie. We coordinate events with our partners to bring more awareness and intervention when possible.

22 Challenge is dedicated to veterans. ALL veterans. We do not discriminate. We are an organization of veterans for all veterans regardless of race, beliefs, politics, religion, sexual orientation, branch of service. We welcome all veterans. We are apolitical and wish to remain that way. It’s what makes us a legit non profit. Please if you attend any of our events, check you emotions at the door in regards of your personal feelings. We want everyone to to feel welcome. Respect for each other is the only way we can create an open dialogue and connect as Veterans. Sincerely

Our amazing team of volunteers
are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Reaching out to all veterans in need. We are currently helping a 84 year old Veteran that lives in Jeffersonville, IN and needs many projects done on his house. We are currently trying to rebuild his Garage. Many hands make light work and a grateful heart.

A Warriors Courage

S.W. (The brutal truth from a post on our Facebook)
I put a 9mm in my mouth and wanted to kill myself because I was LYING. Not because of the divorce, bankruptcy, the ex dating new people, or any of the “external” sources I BLAMED. It’s taken me YEARS to fully understand this. I WANTED TO DIE BECAUSE I WAS LYING. That’s how heavy lying is. That’s how DARK & ALONE lying is. You’re SCREAMING for connection and love and compassion but you’re lies are so deep you’re literally having people throw you life preservers while you’re floundering, but you push them away and literally cause yourself to drown. My friends would ask “HOW YOU DOING MAN?” “GOOD” I’d say. Over and over. “I’M GOOD MAN.” When in reality I was wanting to end my own life and begging someone to figure me out and make the pain go away. I blamed everyone and everything.
Some of you reading this right now feel ALONE. You TRUST NO ONE. You are screaming for help and connection yet not saying a word. I FEEL YOU FRIEND. I FEEL YOU DEEPLY and I want you to know I SEE YOU.
To all of you in this darkness PLEASE HEAR ME. EVERYONE YOU LOOK AT IS IN SOME SORT OF PAIN. YOU ARE NOT WEIRD. YOU ARE NOT AN ISLAND. YOU ARE MORE NOTAML THAN YOULL EVER KNOW.

I did something years ago that was MORE POWERFUL than every antidepressant, drug and sedative COMBINED.

I TOLD THE TRUTH. I spoke what I was feeling. I wept. I admitted. I JUST FUCKING SPOKE TRUTH.

And many people left. Many people didn’t want to be around me. AND I AM GRATEFUL EVERY DAY to these souls. Because i was forced to FIND ME. And what I found was MY MESS WAS ACTUALLY MY MESSAGE.

All the guilt, pain, fear and remorse that had me wanting to blow my brains out was actually the message I NEEDED TO EMBRACE to find my power. TO FEEL HAPPY! TO SEE LIGHT!

Friends, SPEAK YOUR TRUTH. SHARE IT ALL. I still feel darkness. I still get depressed. I still have times of despair.

But I now know I’m not alone. I now feel FREE by not saying “I’M GOOD” when I’m not. Liberation WILL NEVER COME FROM OUTSIDE. It’ll come from you feeling that DARK, and SMILING at it saying “I’ll learn from you, and be a stronger man/woman when you pass.”

To you in that DARK, I LOVE YOU. I may not know you, but know you are LOVED.
